A new kit and playing on the first team pitch saw some inspired play from Hemel but not before they went one down from a team effort from Datchworth scoring within in first 30 seconds despite excellent tagging and defensive work. Edward Shaw ran a try from the restart cutting his way through their defences unchallenged. A number of errors from Datchworth brought further individual long ran tries from Edward Shaw and Arthur Fitt.

The closing seconds of the first half saw Sam Jolly make a running pass just short of the try line to allow Max Jelfs a certain try. The second half brought a number of running passes culminating in tries for Matthew Cannon who ran just over half the pitch along the wing to score his first match try and Joseph Middleton who cut through the centre to score. Datchworth pulled one back and some of their individual efforts stopped by strong defensive tagging.
